Acceptance of Terms

By registering for, participating in, or otherwise using the services, programs, website, or facilities of Sideout HQ ("the League," "we," "us," or "our"), you ("Participant," "you," or "your") agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you are registering on behalf of a minor (under 18), you agree to these Terms on their behalf as their parent or legal guardian.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not participate in League activities or use our services.

Eligibility

Participation in League activities is subject to the following eligibility requirements:

• Participants must meet the age requirements for their respective division as determined by the League.
• Minor participants must have a completed registration form signed by a parent or legal guardian.
• All participants must complete and sign the League's Liability Waiver and Release of Claims prior to participation.
• The League reserves the right to verify the eligibility of any participant and to deny or revoke participation if eligibility requirements are not met.

Registration and Fees

• Registration is not considered complete until all required forms are submitted and all applicable fees are paid in full.
• Registration fees are non-refundable unless otherwise specified by the League.
• The League reserves the right to adjust fees for future seasons with reasonable advance notice.
• Failure to pay fees by the stated deadline may result in the loss of your roster spot or removal from the League.

League Rules and Code of Conduct

All participants, parents, guardians, coaches, and spectators are expected to:

• Abide by all League rules, regulations, and guidelines as published or communicated by the League.
• Demonstrate good sportsmanship, respect, and fair play at all times.
• Treat all participants, officials, coaches, volunteers, and spectators with courtesy and respect.
• Refrain from the use of abusive, obscene, or threatening language or behavior.
• Refrain from the use of alcohol, tobacco, or illegal substances at League events and facilities.
• Follow the instructions of League officials, referees, and staff.

The League reserves the right to take disciplinary action against any individual who violates the code of conduct, including but not limited to warnings, suspension, or permanent expulsion from the League without refund.

Scheduling and Cancellations

• The League will make reasonable efforts to adhere to published schedules; however, schedules are subject to change due to weather, facility availability, safety concerns, or other circumstances.
• The League reserves the right to cancel, postpone, reschedule, or modify any game, practice, event, or season at its discretion.
• In the event of a full season cancellation by the League, participants may be eligible for a pro-rated refund at the League's discretion.
• The League is not responsible for any costs incurred by participants due to schedule changes or cancellations (e.g., travel, lodging, childcare).

Team Placement and Roster Decisions

• The League reserves sole discretion over team placement, roster assignments, divisions, and player movement.
• Requests for specific team placement or teammates may be considered but are not guaranteed.
• The League may reassign, move, or restructure teams at any time to maintain competitive balance, fairness, or operational needs.

Assumption of Risk and Liability

Participation in League activities involves inherent risks of physical injury. By agreeing to these Terms, you acknowledge and accept these risks. Full details regarding assumption of risk, release of liability, indemnification, and medical authorization are set forth in the League's Liability Waiver and Release of Claims, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

Intellectual Property

All content, logos, trademarks, team names, graphics, and materials associated with the League are the property of Sideout HQ or its licensors. You may not use, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any League intellectual property without prior written consent.

Website and Online Services

If you use the League's website or online services:

• You agree not to use the website for any unlawful purpose or in any way that could damage, disable, or impair the website.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any account credentials.
• User-generated content (e.g., comments, forum posts) must comply with the League's code of conduct. The League reserves the right to remove any content that violates these Terms.
• The League's website and online services are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

Privacy & Analytics

Your personal information is collected, used, and protected in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using our services, you consent to our collection and use of information as described in the Privacy Policy.

We use product analytics tools (PostHog) to understand how the platform is used and to improve features. Analytics tracking is subject to your cookie preferences — you can accept or reject analytics cookies via the consent banner displayed on the site.

We also use Vercel Analytics for aggregate performance monitoring (page load times, Web Vitals). This service is cookieless, collects no personal data, and operates independently of your cookie preferences.

Communication and Notifications

By registering with the League, you consent to receive communications from the League via email, text message, phone, or other methods regarding schedules, updates, announcements, and other League-related information. You may opt out of non-essential communications at any time by contacting the League.

Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising out of or related to these Terms or your participation in League activities shall be resolved as follows:

1. Informal Resolution: The parties shall first attempt to resolve any dispute informally by contacting the League administration.
2. Mediation: If informal resolution is unsuccessful, the parties agree to attempt mediation before a mutually agreed-upon mediator.
3. Binding Arbitration: If mediation is unsuccessful, disputes shall be resolved by binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the League, its officers, directors, employees, agents, volunteers, sponsors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your participation in League activities or use of our services, regardless of the cause of action or the theory of liability.

The League's total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount of registration fees paid by you for the current season.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the League and its officers, directors, employees, agents, volunteers, sponsors, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising out of or related to your participation in League activities, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

Modifications to Terms

The League reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted on our website with a revised effective date. Your continued participation in League activities or use of our services after any modifications constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the applicable state jurisdiction, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Liability Waiver and Release of Claims and the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and the League regarding your participation in League activities and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
